New updates

Well, David took his papers up to the job site and had a short interview with the possible supervisor fellow. The odds are really good it'll happen. There's only one problem. If he gets it, he'll start October 1st. Let me repeat that:

October 1st.

That's the beginning of the government fiscal year, you see. In addition, there's a very good chance we won't know for sure one way or the other about it until then. So much for my brief hopes for stability.

And with that, I'm off to A-Kon for the weekend as of tomorrow morning. I'll be back on Monday. Here's hoping this is as much of a vacation as I'd like it to be. I'm sure I'll have stories, anyway.

Just heard on the news that they will most likely not be approving the budget in October because it is an election year and they do not want people to know what they are cutting right before an election. Analysts are thinking that it may be February before they get it in effect. I would tell him to keep looking.
