Editing Rant

1) It's "populace" for the inhabitants of an area, and "populous" for "this area has lots of people." As God is my witness, don't make me kill you over this and depopulate your area.

2) Punctuation goes inside the quotation marks. You're a published author. Again, don't make me hunt you down over this.

3) I don't care how you choose to spell your funny, in-universe words. Upside down and backwards is fine with me. BUT... if you cannot choose the same spelling and capitalization consistently from sentence to sentence, paragraph to paragraph, chapter to chapter and book to book, I will have to loose the rabid weasels on you. And trust me, I'm poking their cage with a stick AS WE SPEAK.

4) There are rules about capitalizing words. They aren't there just for show. If I wanted to see Important Words capitalized whenever the Author felt like it, I'd read Victorian Era Literature, Thank You Very Much. Don't make me send over my rowdies to roust you out of bed and take your word processor without so much as a by-your-leave. Please.

I feel your pain. Regularly. Add in a rant about getting basic concepts about writers getting the game mechanics completely fucked to hell, and I'm there, 100%.

Also know the difference between "affect" and "effect" and "principal" and "principle". The latter I see screwed up all the time in published material...
