My parents have been here and gone. My mom loved the weather and my dad loved the scenery, and both loved spending time with their grandsons. It was just about as good as it gets on those scores. The only downside was the sheer number of times I ate at Denny's or IHOP. The last evening they were here we were trying to decide where to go to eat. I literally couldn't think of anything that sounded good at either of those places. We ended up just having sandwiches at my house, and I can't tell you how much of a relief that was -- for all of us, I think. I must be getting old. :)

Lots of my friends are off at GenCon, and while I miss going and seeing everyone, I am glad I didn't try to go this year. It would have just been a huge mess right now, both financially and time-wise with kids and everything. As it is I'm really enjoying my stained glass class and dancing and whatnot. Instead I'll just be working on finding a job after this and saving my pennies up for next year.

Sorry you won't be there this year. I'll think of you while I eat that horrible, horrible pizza.

*grin* You do that. I'll be there in spirit, albeit with the benefit that my spirit doesn't have to eat convention center food.

You'll be missed ... I'll be sure and buy your spirit a drink one evening, perhaps if you're planning to be at the ENnies in spirit? :)

I am your sister in not-going-hood. Which is kind of a sketchy neighborhood to be in, so I'm glad we can stick together. grin.

Next year: we meet, we drink, we laugh until our sides hurt and our faces feel all stretched funny.

I feel your pain. On my last trip to FL, my cousin applauded my fortitude in my willingness to go with my grandmother to Denny's as often as I did. But hey, the french toast is pretty good and the coffee is botomless.

Glad to hear your parents were able to make it up there.
