Okay, so this year a friend of mine had offered to play hostess for my birthday party (to which I am late in issuing formal invites). Unfortunately, things have transpired for her of late such that she is no longer able to offer such a service without becoming a basket case. This is totally not her fault, and I suggested that she rescind her offer because I like her and don't wish to see her have a total nervous breakdown. Bad timing is bad timing, and there's not anything to be done but regroup.

This means, however, that I no longer have access to somewhere to have said party. I also do not have the funds to secure a public space for said party, even if I still could. I could simply pick a place and have people meet up there and hang out, like Jillian's or The Garage or something, but I fear that places will be crowded and that reservations (and thus money) will need to be provided to make that happen reasonably. This is very frustrating.

Perhaps I should scale back my plans. Maybe we could arrange to meet for dinner somewhere that can handle large groups, like Buca di Beppo or something, and then figure things out from there.... It would sort of have to be a "pay as you go" thing, for I am currently financially challenged, but that could work, right?

Comments from those as would like to come would be lovely. Once something is officially decided, emails will follow to other interested parties. Who knows, maybe I'll still be able to pull it off this year. That would be exciting. :)
