If you live in Seattle and have any interest in the symphony as a whole or Carmina Burana in particular, the Seattle Symphony has a matinee today at 2 PM. They have apparently been having trouble filling seats for the matinee, and yesterday my friend Aimee and I got orchestra seats for $20 each, normally the price of the nosebleed section--a fraction of what they normally go for. Call and see about purchasing tickets and see what sort of deal you can work! See you there!

How was it?

It was awesome. The soloists were incredible, the chorus and symphony were dead on... The first half of the performance was a Tchaikovsky violin concerto. The soloist for that was awesome, too. I had to keep reminding myself that the music wasn't just coming from some CD playing somewhere, which is sad -- guess I need to watch real music more often. Oh, and there was a guest conductor-- a woman! She totally rocked and was very good as well.
