My last day at my current job is the 19th.

I don't have a start date for my next job yet. *worry*

I still don't have the first/main book for one of my classes, though Amazon swears up and down it will be here on Thursday. I will be so behind in my reading it won't even be funny, not to mention have to jump straight in on the second quiz (I got an extension on the first one).

I could so be an anthropologist. But then, I have this inconvenient desire to get paid as well.

I find people who think Marx, Freud, and Foucault had the last, best word on religion in a Comparative Religion class to be funny. But I probably shouldn't tell them that. But it would be fun and flamey. Alas, I am conflicted.

I get my insurance settlement tomorrow. It's not a ton, but it'll help me get caught up and get some relatively small things paid off. Unless, of course, I don't get a start date for my next job and the new position up and disappears, in which case I'm possibly screwed and should hold on to it to supplement my income until I get another contract/vendor position.... Gaaaah.

I am getting a haircut this weekend regardless.

The voice chat on WoW works with my iMac's built-in mic, which is fun and funny as well.

Two online classes might have been too optimistic of me. Too late now, I suppose. I miss actually going to class, though. Darn it.

I really need to go on another date at some point. Of course, dating is always different in my head than it is in real life. In my head, I'm with a reasonably attractive person and there's some chemistry there and I feel okay with flirting. In real life... well, that happens less frequently. And I suck at flirting most of the time anyway. But I have nicer date clothes now. Sigh. More conflictedness.

Some time in the next week or so I must acquire pumpkins on pain of really unhappy boys.

Was wondering what had happened to ya. What's the new job about? Still at MS?

I feel your pain about school. I started classes last week, and am expecting an Amazon-promised book in the mail tomorrow. Fingers crossed, etc.

Still, it's good to be back in classes -- feels like I'm doing more with my life, and I'm enjoying the stuff I'm learning.

Dang, I need to get a haircut myself one of these weeks!

Glad to hear it's going well for the most part.

Best wishes. I am in the inbetween jobs mode myself and it isnt pretty. The missus is getting very worried. *sigh*

You have my sympathies vis-a-vis the job. I still get a lot of employment notices - what are you looking for?

I find people who think Marx, Freud, and Foucault had the last, best word on religion in a Comparative Religion class to be funny. But I probably shouldn't tell them that. But it would be fun and flamey. Alas, I am conflicted.

Heh. Having just gone back to school last week in the distance program for an MLIS, I can seriously relate. Big bunches of people in the program are trying hard to Sound Really Smart. But see, I've done this silly little dance before, and now I'm in it to basically get technical degree. So I don't HAVE to be clever.

Plus it's always nice to hear of another iMac in the world.

New job is still at MS, but as a different type of contractor. Things are looking much better today, so good things.

I'm taking "Anthropology of American Life" and "Comparative Religion." How about you?

Good thoughts right back at you. *hug*

Well, things are looking a little better, so right now I'm not looking for anything -- or rather, I've found the job I want and now I'm just seeing if the Powers That Be will decide to give it to me. If it does fall through, though, I'll let you know.

Glad to hear things are looking up.

Let's see -- I don't recall exact course titles, but I am taking an Intro to Publishing course, and History of Publishing course, two computer software courses -- one covering "input" (and some design), the other covering "output." Friday is for "New Media" -- kind of a symposium class, where they gather the Publishing Arts, Commercial Photography, and Graphic Design students together to explore how they can interact in the "real world."

Great stuff, and I'm having fun, though I'm tired a lot. Still trying to fit in 30 hours of work a week at the same time.
