First up is a great band from Texas named Spoon, who has somehow managed to channel the spirit of a number of late 70's acts and still sound cool doing it. Here's their current release, "The Underdog."
Next is Paramore, with their song Misery Business. You've undoubtedly heard at least a snippet of this somewhere. Before I saw the video, I assumed that the entire band was at least a little older than this... they're not, but holy crap can she sing. It's not all smoke and mirrors and sound editing, as this acoustic version proves.
