For Thanksgiving I went out to San Francisco, where I saw my lovely friends Trey and Nicole and got to spend an evening gaming with them and the much-missed
brannonb*. We did not have any sort of Thanksgiving food, as Nicole managed to acquire some unfortunate strain of food poisoning -- which she is mostly over now, thank heavens.
This meant we were largely homebodies during the visit, but I didn't mind. We ate out (since cooking was altogether beyond Nicole's capacity at that particular moment), including a visit to The Crepe House, watched a season or so of Bones on DVD (liked it very much), talked about nearly everything, did crafty stuff, walked down to the beach and watched the surf (and surfers), and played with the Wii.
As far as the Wii goes, my savegame from last year was still there (yay!) in Twilight Princess, but I got stuck and so didn't play that as much as I'd planned. I instead ended up getting about halfway through Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which was cute enough in its way. Trey really wanted me to play Carnival, but I just didn't get to it.
All told, it was a lovely vacation and just what I needed to reset my stress levels back down to where they should be.
* For those as might be interested, the game was a Mutants and Masterminds one-shot. I played Muse, a Disabled Genius Gadgeteer -- used the premade characters from... um, the premade character book. We only made it through half the adventure, but it was a good time nonetheless.
