Anti-climactic stuff
Aug. 24th, 2004 06:55 pmWelp, on Monday I talked to the special ed teacher at my son's school, as his teacher was not there. She verified that plans were in place, though they weren't fully being acted on yet as the teachers were still trying to get things lined up. There's also the possibility that they'll be splitting his class into two 1st grade classes, which would be great. I also spoke with Alisdair, confirmed that just maybe he wasn't trying his best to focus because he thought he'd be leaving that school soon, and let him know that was unacceptable. So far, there haven't been any problems to speak of this week. Looks like I don't have to go ballistic on anyone after all. :)
I got the date of my trip to Seattle today. Leave Sunday, spend the night, fly back Monday afternoon. Not exactly a lengthy affair, but it'll do well enough. If things go well, I'll be relocating and can take extra time to look around and see people then. I'm pretty pleased, over all. It makes picking David up on Sunday a much more complicated affair, though. My dad has volunteered to take my place and run up to Norman to get him (125 miles away, roughly), so I'm much more relieved.
I got my haircut today, finally, and I like it a lot. My stylist owns the salon and is opening a second one, and she's awfully, awfully good. I haven't always liked the style she did my hair in at the salon, but I've always liked the cut. I'm not sure I ever will get over the "looks like a drowned rat" feeling of sitting in the chair right after hair is washed, though. Ah well. I'm sure they see a lot of drowned-rat-people in a day.
