So I haven't posted in a few days. I've been busy. David had his wisdom teeth out, as those who follow [livejournal.com profile] twinfalcon's journal will know. He's been in the happy land of Percoset since then. He's been able to try chewy foods off and on, but the better part of his diet is yogurt, applesauce, and soup. Three wisdom teeth out at once. Owie.

We also got a new car -- a 2004 Toyota Matrix. It's an cool thing (called a Sport Wagon), and it's mostly for taking David back and forth to work. It'll go with him after the split, leaving me with the Hamster (that's paid off in September... yay!) and a far lessened insurance payment. *grin* And I can still borrow it and drive around sometimes, so it's all good.

This has led me to my next observation: it's so damn good to have a car of my own again. I'd forgotten what it was like not to be tied into the Great Tactical Schedule Shuffle. It just lifts my spirits every time I go out, just to ride in my own car and not have to plan with someone else when I can have access to a vehicle, or when someone can pick me up from work, or drop me off, or.... *happy sigh* I even took the Hamster out for a long-overdue bath today. It's all pretty and shiny now. :)

Also, I got my tax return in today. I've just been walking on air all day long. Paid a couple of overdue bills, getting plane reservations, and planning what sort of house stuff I'll be purchasing with the remainder. I've been fairly skipping everywhere I went today. It's that good.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that the sun has reappeared for a few days running. I am slowly admitting to myself that I may have some degree of Seasonal Affective Disorder. While I'm not really depressed as such during the winter, I do eat more, move less, and generally feel trapped more often. I also can't get enough light in the house. Let the sun come out for a day or so and get a few good hours in, though, and it's like I found my soul again. The difference in energy, outlook, and general willingness to take care of myself in good ways are just astonishing. This was not such a big deal in more southern areas, but now that I'm up north, I should attempt to deal with this preemptively for next winter.

So, yeah. I got spring fever bad, baby. Let the sunshine and the money roll in. Tomorrow is my birthday, and all is good and right with the world. I hug you all.
