The cat is mine!
Jun. 10th, 2005 10:22 amGot a call from my friend, Tarisse, yesterday. It's her apartment we were at when we found the cat. The lady who was the former owner called. Turns out (it's a somewhat long story) that the cat was unhappy with her and had kept running away, and she was actually trying to find a good home for it. She was very pleased that we'd found it and wanted to keep it, and left her number so that we could get in touch with her if we needed to.
( More if you want to read the story.... )
As it turns out, Angel is two years old and has been spayed. She will be coming up on time to get her shots very soon. The former owner claims that Angel is not a Maine Coon Cat at all, but suspects she's half Himalayan and half Siamese. Given that she's got the coloring of neither, nor the body build, I suspect this is incorrect. Not that it matters greatly. She's wonderful no matter what she is. :) She doesn't answer to her former name any more than she answers to Angel, so I feel no compunction about changing it. I wish I actually knew something more fitting to call her. Until I figure out what that is, though, I suppose Angel will do.
This weekend will see a more concerted effort to make her feel at home, now that we know she's staying. Cat toys and new litter box and a real scratching post will be purchased, along with some nail clippers and a brush and such. I still have no pictures, but will try to remedy that this weekend by borrowing Tarisse's digital camera.
