That's a tonsil, not a space station!
Sep. 1st, 2005 08:28 pmOr something like that.
I'm home. I'm drugged. I'm actually almost functioning at times. My throat hurts, but that's to be expected. The little hanging-down thingy in the back of my throat, the uvula, is swollen to huge proportions and is somewhat uncomfortable. It's still not as bad as the tonsils were, though, and it will go down. The comment of everyone on the operating staff regarding my tonsils was, and I quote, "They were really big." The exception was the actual surgeon, who called them "big and ugly." Woo hoo. There was much agreement that this was a good decision. I am hoping to get more info at the post-op appointment. Tarisse and her roommate, April, took me home and stayed with me most of today. They made me food I hadn't had time to fix before the surgery and got me drinks and Tarisse even painted my fingernails. It was almost like a slumber party, in a very percoset-inspired way. I love my friends.
David came by as they were leaving and checked on me. I went to bed and he went ahead and fixed the kids dinner here and did some laundry for me and hung out for a while as I slept. He will likely come by tomorrow at some point as well for a little while. I will have shortish periods of on-line-ness, for those who might want to get ahold of me via chat, but mostly I'm going to be sacked out. I am wholly okay with this. I love my drugs. But not more than I love my friends. I think. Um... yes.
*hug*
