Informational Melange
May. 30th, 2006 01:25 pm1) My new phone should be here tomorrow. Go me.
2) I have permission to keep the doggie. Her name is Rosie, in case I failed to mention it sooner.
3) I visited the lovely Olympic Cards and Comics this weekend with the ex and boys, and made a few purchases. First, Sandman: Endless Nights. I have all the other trade paperbacks. Not like I could let that one go, really. Second, the Castle Waiting trade paperback. I know very little about it, except that Jane Yolen wrote the intro and that it looks very spiffy.
mercuryeric thrust it into my hands and said "this is cool," and lo, so it seems to be. Third, I got Conspiracy X 2.0. I really didn't mean to get it. I was almost entirely settled on getting something else. It's just that... well, I used to have the original version (before a former canine acquaintance of mine chewed on it quite lovingly). I even ran a game of it... granted, that game exploded in large, firey pieces due largely to characters being paranoid of one another and resorting quickly to open violence, but still! It was fun, if short-lived. I always sorta wanted to give it a second chance but never did. Well, now I've got its successor, and I'm pleased with that. I may even have to go dig out my Zener cards.
4) Today is the deadline for the committee to hand over its recommendations to the school board about which schools should be closed -- specifically whether my children's school is still on the list. I attended rallies and wrote emails. I would like to think it's enough. We'll have to see.
