Update and progress!

1. Thanks to all who gave kind and encouraging words regarding Rosie. We are currently on nearly 3 weeks without a household-item-destruction incident! Yay us. Also, there has been no word from the possible former owners of Rosie. I am secretly... well, okay, maybe not so secretly glad about this. This past weekend saw another iteration of Bathtime for Rosie, during which there was a remarkable amount of fur lost for so non-furry a dog. I'm still defurring my tub area, actually.

2. I went back to the gym on Tuesday and decided to try my old workout routine that I hadn't done in some time. I thought it would be difficult and had not expected to have much luck at it. Instead, I kicked ass at it. I even went over the weight I'd had listed for one of the exercises without noticing. W00t! Also, from going shopping while on my trip, I discovered that while I do still tend to need an 18 when wearing non-stretch jeans to accomodate the unique curvature of the junk in the trunk, as it were, I am easily a 16 in everything else. I am making absolutely no progress in actually changing the numbers on the scale, but I'm working on not letting that bother me. Dancing totally rocks. The only downside is that I'd like to continue my lessons, only I'm coming up at the end of them and no rumored freelance check is likely to wing my way in the next two weeks to purchase more. This makes me sad, as I'm getting pretty good at it. Granted, the dance studio isn't the only venue in town to go dancing by a long shot, but I've worked hard to get a comfort level and a routine going there. It's a shame to just walk away from it.

Terminology query

For those martial arts students who might read this, I have a question. I know among Chinese martial arts, a teacher is traditionally referred to as "Sifu." Does the sifu have a common word for student?
