Myrna Loy

You scored 9% grit, 33% wit, 28% flair, and 38% class!

You are class itself, the calm, confident "perfect woman." Men turn and look at you admiringly as you walk down the street, and even your rivals have a grudging respect for you. You always know the right thing to say, do and, of course, wear. You can take charge of a situation when things get out of hand, and you're a great help to your partner even if they don't immediately see or know it. You are one classy dame. Your screen partners include William Powell and Cary Grant, you little simmerpot, you.

My weekend

Hmm. Friday night I did something... what was it? Oh yeah, I remember now. I skipped the dance studio practice party (I'd been the night before) and instead went down to Columbia City. I had dinner out at Geraldine's Counter. The special was herb crusted wild coho salmon stuffed with clams in some sort of reduction sauce, with a light tomato cream sauce over the top, on a bed of braised greens and served with creamy rice. Needless to say, I was sold. After dinner, I had coffee and an oatmeal-apple crisp, topped with homemade vanilla bean ice cream. Afterward I thought of [livejournal.com profile] iamnikchick and regretted not taking pictures. I used up nearly all my flex points for the week on that meal, but it was so worth it.

On Saturday, I dithered over my computer without success. I had a slow morning, went to Arby's for lunch, then went and did my workout. Normally if I do the treadmill I stick to the "fat burning" settings. This time I went for cardio training. Significantly higher intensity level, but I went for 30 minutes and wasn't too badly off afterward. Go me. After that, I went up to the glass studio and picked over their remnants. Picked up some lovely items that should go into very nice pendants/coasters/christmas presents. Discovered that there's an open house next weekend when the studio will be expanding into a larger space, which I shall try to attend accordingly. They'll be having giveaways and show off some new nifty things. Very much worth my time.

David and the kids spent the day with friends, so we had a much later handoff than usual. When I realized I had a bit more time in front of me, I took off for the latest show opening at the Columbia City gallery. I really enjoyed it. I also put a bit of money down on a reasonably priced knitted silver wire bracelet with green glass beads on it. Yes, I did say knitted. When I finish picking it up, I'll take pics and post them if people are interested *looks at [livejournal.com profile] trollbabe*

Today I gave up on my new video card altogether and pulled it out of my malfunctioning computer. Lo and behold, the computer isn't malfunctioning anymore. Turns out the lowest available tech for new video cards is too advanced for my computer, and I can't take it back. I ended up giving it to David as I was too depressed to keep it. The guy I bought this placeholder computer from seems to have some modicum of clue after speaking with him on the phone, so he's going to price out for me what sort of real computer-that-can-play-a-game he could put together for me. We'll see.
