This is one of the best shows out there. I love Aaron Sorkin's work, I enjoy the actors, and I feel like it's finally smart TV again. It's still got a few rough spots, but by and large it works. It's on right now. I'm not watching it.

See, there's a certain degree of irony in this.

While my computer was broken, I watched it religiously. I loved it. It had amazing writing, it was about arts and more amazing writing and all that good stuff. I've known people who could be that brilliant, who could make jokes that funny -- I'm not one of them, mind you, but I know people like that. I could not write, as my computer wasn't up, but I could watch a TV show about writing and thus feel somewhat as though my choice of occupation was not in vain.

Now my computer's back and I can write. I went to turn it on this evening, thinking I'd watch it... and in watching Matthew Perry's character try to write skits for a show that's 20 hours away, I find that I can't even begin to sit down and look at it. I have to write too. A show so good that it makes me turn off the TV and write. Feel that? That's irony messin' wit 'cha. Perhaps they'll end up moving it to a night where my kiddos are with me, so that I can watch it without guilt. For now, though... I've got an appointment with a blank page waiting for me, and this has been my 8-minute warmup. I'll just have to hope Aaron S. understands. :)
