Close, but no cigar.
Oct. 23rd, 2006 12:16 amSo much for the high-rolling life of a writer. I have a new computer that should be able to do everything I will need for the next few years, all for the bargain price of $300. It apparently works well. I have to send it back. See, finances have taken a less-than-optimal turn, and that $300 is now completely outside my budget for the forseeable future -- likely until after Christmas, at the soonest. I wasn't really expecting it as quickly as he got it together, but I had still hoped that I could scrape together the funds. I'm quite sure God found these plans greatly amusing. I haven't made the phone call to the guy to let him know yet -- I have to do that tomorrow, as he mentioned that he was running short on rent money too and was happy to be able to sell a computer to help out. I know it'll all get better eventually, but... damn. This sucks.
