Great day!

1) I'm officially going back to work at MGS as of March 1st. I don't have as much of a raise as I wanted, but it's not a lot less than I asked for -- and it's still more than I was getting.

2) I went to Capitol Hill today and shopped. I bought new makeup at Bartell Drugs so I could use the parking lot, then went to Edge of the Circle as I hadn't made it down there before and I wanted to look around. It's a nice little shop -- and when I walked in, lo and behold, they had Russian Gypsy Fortune Telling cards! I used to have a set of these, but they got lost somewhere along in the last move. I hadn't been able to find them since, but there they were on display. I'm quite pleased. Needless to say, I picked them up. I also found a cute little indie fabric store down the way from there, wherein I picked up a new set of knitting needles and a crochet hook. I made a couple of other stops too, but nothing I wish to note here. :)

3) I went to the gym! I can start dancing and lifting weights again, albeit gently with low weight. I shall go again tomorrow as well.

4) My car is fixed, evidently, and I shall pick it up in the morning. While I enjoyed the Toyota RAV-4 rental, I will be happy to have my Camry back.

5) I got my hair cut! It's very swingy and nice and out-of-my-way again, and my stylist gave me tips on how to work with it again, as I forget. I also got there early on accident, and so ended up getting a spa manicure while I was waiting for my appointment. This is my first manicure ever, and it was very nice. My fingernails are now all pink and pearly. I am pleased.

6) My kids got to go do readings this evening at the Powerful Writers open mic at the Starbucks in Columbia City. Powerful Writers is a program at a number of schools in the area, in which the kids write and illustrate their own books. Everyone who came and read got hot chocolate. Both of my children have a flair for the dramatic when it comes to storytelling, and both got a couple of laughs and much applause. I am a proud mama, let me tell you. David was there as well, and we all went out afterwards to a "family" dinner. It was the first time we've done that in months, and I think it went well. Could have been worse, certainly.

Oh, and for Valentine's Day, there's a foxtrot night at the Century Ballroom. I got David to switch nights with me so that I can go. I'm really looking forward to it, and am already planning what to wear. :) So not sitting at home on my ass this year for Valentine's. Go me.
