October Fifth.
Oct. 8th, 2007 05:35 pmAs my oldest son was fond of telling everyone on Friday, it was "the tenth anniversary of his birth." It was also the day that I signed the paperwork to make him officially a special ed student. The irony of the juxtaposition was not lost on me. Alisdair is an amazing kid, and I am fortunate to be his mom. He has taught me a tremendous amount over the years just by being who he is. I'm looking forward to seeing the man he becomes, even as I'm fearful that I'm not going to be a good enough parent to see him through all the times until then. In the meantime, it's just one foot in front of the other. We'll make it to the top of the mountain eventually, and maybe even pick a few flowers along the way.
Love you, angel. More than you could ever know.
