So, the latest exciting episode was Walking Tall, not the original starring Joe Don Baker (I think), but the remake starring The Rock. Set in Kitsap County, no less, a totally unqualified ex-marine is elected sheriff over the corrupt current sheriff, and takes on his evil high-school rival for control of the town, bringing peace, justice, and the lumber industry back to town in the process.

Now, granted, the original was not great cinema. I don't think you could have cable and TBS in the 80s without having seen at least part of the film, but it had its place. It was a great deal more visceral in how the violence was shown, if my memory is correct. It also wasn't as pretty as this one is. I actually kinda liked this version, even though it wasn't entirely worthy. It had bad guys being beat up, though, a truck being chainsawed, and the Rock with his shirt off, and a happy ending to tie it all together. I've seen worse.
