Breakfast: Kashi and soymilk and raspberries.

Morning snack: vitamins to ward off the remaining icky headache, triscuits, and two cocktail sausage snacks. I'm not supposed to have those, but oh freaking well. Also, a pear.

Lunch: Chicken teriyaki, no rice, just salad. Good stuff. Had the fortune cookie too -- not so good.

Afternoon snack: baby carrots and hummus. Also, two small oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and 1 hershey's kiss. Bah.

Dinner: Lettuce wrap sandwich brought from home between classes along with popcorn. Thought about a soda really hard, but didn't get one. Helped that I didn't know where the soda machine was. Happily remembered my water bottle. Go me.

Dessert: plain yogurt, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and agave nectar. Really wanted something sugary and carby and not diet legal, but could settle down after that and resist.

Stuff
I'm not exactly sticking to the diet hardcore this week. I'm still doing better than if I weren't on it altogether, but the busy along with the migraines has really thrown a wrench into things. This weekend I have at home to myself, so I'm planning to get back on the straight and narrow (no candy at my house, for one thing) and make it better for next week. Happily, next week will be less busy, so that's a good thing. Hopefully I can have time to breathe and finish the damned freelance work I've got. And maybe vacuum my floor. And possibly clear off my work area. Etc.

Oh! And I'm planning for the debate on Friday by having popcorn I can have, so I'll try not to have my extra grain carbs during the day so they'll be legal that night. :)

Oh, and school updates will follow. Really.

I finally got it. I'm shocked I didn't get it before, but I've been a touch busy, so I can be forgiven, I suppose. I'm also remembering McCain's political career and tend to think of the military as "something he did once," much like it is for... you know, every veteran I know.

McCain is a soldier. He's not a statesman, he's not a politician, he's a soldier. He can follow orders and he REALLY wants to get promoted, as well wanting to complete the mission, That's his primary skillset. On top of that, he's an old soldier. Iraq is Vietnam, Afghanistan has no equivalent so it doesn't exist, and the Cold War with the Russians is still ongoing -- oh, and let's not forget the impending Israeli Holocaust he's determined to prevent.

There's a lot to be learned from the past, but the most valuable lesson is how to evaluate a situation, apply it to the present, and then leave the battles -- lost or won -- in the past. You don't relive them. You evaluate each enemy on their own merit (or threat). Listening to him, it was like the Berlin Wall never fell -- and having grown up in those years, I won't make my kids go back to them.

Besides, McCain Godwin'd the debate. That means Obama wins by default, right? :)
