Bits and pieces.
Aug. 9th, 2009 11:21 pmPacking and getting the last few things done before I leave tomorrow monring. Got the trash taken out, for example -- that was a big one with the most potential downfall if it remained undone. Doing the last of the dirty dishes from today is the next most crucial. Finishing packing is up there too, but if I leave a bit of that undone, I'm not going to want to keel over and die next time I enter my house, so that's okay. :)
My friend Trey has arrived and gotten preliminarily settled in at my ex's house -- he's renting a room from them. His stuff arrives Tuesday, conveniently when I won't be here to assist him. I feel bad about this, but then I hate moving stuff so I don't feel as bad as I probably should. To make up for this, I took him out to dinner tonight to celebrate the pair of us living in the same city for the first time, something like -- god, has it really been that long? -- fifteen years after we first met.
I also partly finished a project today -- my first sock. I say partly because you aren't done with socks until you've knit both of them, unless you're knitting for an amputee. As I and my children all have all the factory-standard number of limbs, it means a second sock is in order. I'm very pleased with the first one, though. I did a good job and it fits Alisdair perfectly -- for all of the six months it'll take him to grow out of it, but then it'll be mine. :)
Okay. I've lolligagged long enough. I need to get busy if I'm going to sleep tonight. Got to get up bright and early tomorrow and get to the airport. Think happy travel thoughts for me, everyone. See you on the other side.
