So things are still going, though a bit more slowly. I'm still working on how to integrate the way I'm supposed to be eating with my current schedule. I'm sticking to it more often than not, though, including my lack of sodas -- on which I'm doing very well. I've discovered that in addition to not taking sugar in my tea, I'm actually enjoying flavored non-sweetened sparkling water. I used to hate sparkling water, but now I find it serves my "soda" desires quite well. It's crazy.
As for set milestones, I'm down 18 lbs since I started, and 3.5 inches down in waist from my starting measurement. The baggy size 18s are no longer decent to wear to work, so now they're strictly "doing laundry" pants. Even a belt doesn't help greatly -- they're just really big on me all over, not just in the waist, and they don't look work-appropriate. I know there was a point at which my waist was smaller than this, but I can't remember it, which means that a) I didn't pay nearly enough attention at the time and b) it was a very long time ago. When I get to 4 inches down, then I'll be well pleased (and should then fit into a pair of pants I bought on accident, couldn't get into, and have kept all this time, which will increase my wardrobe again).
Who knows, maybe I'll even be able to get a totally rocking dress for the holiday party this year (or fit into a formerly rocking dress that hasn't seen the light of day in ages)! Either way, I'd be happy. Dropping another size or close to it between now and then is not beyond the realms of possibility, which would be very nice indeed.
