So I just spent the last 45 minutes slowly getting my car out of the driveway, back and forth, back and forth, until I nearly get into the street only to get stuck. Along the way I managed to make a huge mess and still can't get past the ruts and snow at the edge of the street. And did I mention that my driveway is sloped so that uphill is toward the street? Yes. I actually did get stuck about 2/3 of the way into the street... and did I mention that the street is slippery and not exactly at a point where people can easily stop? That was a tense time. I managed to dig my front wheels out sufficiently that with a bit of gentle rocking I could get it back into the driveway, but not before deeply annoying at least three passing cars, at least one of which had three shovels in the back but at no point offered the use of any of them.
I'm pissed, I'm cold, I'm stuck at home for one more day (assuming that it continues to melt, please God), and I'm worried about how my kids are going to get here. It's a hell of a day.
