So I've been working on my kitting today. After all, if I can't have new yarn, I can at least finish something I've got on the needles and use some of the yarn I have that I haven't touched. That would be nice too. Of the three projects I've got going, the lace scarf still has a lot to go. It's around a yard long now, but we're shooting for five feet and since it's lace, it doesn't exactly grow quickly. Will's blanket is likewise hell and gone from completion... I'm on the second of six strips for it and had to frog that one back nearly to the beginning, because I could no longer tell where I was on it anymore. Also, it's made from mostly acrylic yarn, since anything with wool is super-itchy to him. This is unfortunate for me because I'm discovering that I hate knitting with it. During the winter, at least, it chaps my hands all to hell, and it feels odd all year round. I'm going to take it with me on an upcoming trip and see if I can't get some progress made on it, but I really don't love it. The end result will be good, though, and he'll be able to use it without a problem.

Of the three, the clapotis shawl is the closest. I've got a spreadsheet for the pattern that I've been keeping track with, so I have to be near my computer to work on it, but if I keep at it, I can possibly finish it in about three weeks. Of course, if it's the only thing I knit over those three weeks and I don't quite finish, then I'll be ready to keel over at the sight of it by then and it may end up stuck in a drawer with something like five rows left, but I'm trying to stay positive. :) I'm about 60% done, possibly a bit more. I think I'm going to shift all my focus onto that and see if I can get it done by mid-February. Then if I can take the other projects with me when I go somewhere and give myself something to do that way. It is, at least, a light at the end of a tunnel.
