1) I love Carnivale. OMG. I just started watching it for a little bit of work I've got going on, but I have to say... whenever I get money again, I'm purchasing it.

2) Tried a new teriyaki place (my weekly lunch splurge) but sadly I wasn't impressed with it. One more off the list.

3) I've gotten off the wagon a bit with my diet stuff. It's hard to do when it's winter and I'm on the shady side of broke and things being as they are.... all that sort of thing. That said... I haven't gained any of the weight I've lost back, not over nine months and holidays and winter and everything. I'm really pleased. I'm getting back onto it again now.. well, as well as can be expected, anyway. I've got to cut the sugar back out -- I'm not looking forward to that, frankly. I know for a couple of days it's going to suck mightily, though it might not be as bad this time... I don't have nearly as much sugar in my diet as I did once upon a time. Still, if I can keep up with the gym and get the diet back under control, all I need to drop to be at my first goal is four pounds. I'll have other goals after that, but four pounds would do it. Anyone can lose four pounds, right? Right :)

4) Just got a call about a full-time gig. It's contract work, but at least it's not piecemeal contract work. That's something, right? And it's not back out at Microsoft, which is something too. No chickens before they're hatched, of course. Still.

Yes, I really loved Carnivale too. Great attention to detail, great casting, great writing.

My wife loved that show. Too bad it died young.

"Pick a number!"

It's a worth the time just for the opening monologue in the first episode.

Be warned - the second season drags a bit in the beginning. But after that you too will be wondering what those buttheads at HBO were thinking, pulling the plug so soon.

I love Carnivale. Great show. It truly is a shame that it simply ends without any sense of true resolution (though there is some sense of resolution, true).

Heh ... I got bitten by the Carnivale bug too ... complete accident. My ex and I were traveling by car from MA to Georgia, and our car broke down in Pittston, PA. We stayed in a hotel that had HBO, and, since we were stuck there a couple days, we managed to see a couple of eps of Carnivale (it was new then). Then, a year or so later, we were staying in a hotel in California when attending my grandmother's memorial service, and we caught an ep of the second season.

Needless to say, when the DVDs came out, they were very expensive new. I managed to get both seasons for fairly cheap off eBay, and have watched them several times. Would have loved to see where they were going to go with it.

Any work is good work. Any full-time is even better. I hope you land it. :)

Amen. There was still so much that could have been done with the series.
