Well, tonight I started assembly for the better part of my Warmachine force for Origins. I had the core set done plus an extra warcaster or so, but the time had come to either get my butt in gear and get the 500 pts started, or resign the field.

Who else is going to be bringing some? Anybody up for playing some evening? Jeff? Mearls? Bueller? I've even got an extra core army available, if someone wants to take a swing at it but is without means at the moment.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Must be one of those silly minature games. Freak. ;)

I have yet to get into Warmachine, though I am eagerly awaiting the IKCG for the roleplaying version of it.

Good stuff.

I still haven't picked up the core rules - I tried ordering them from an online store that was having a going out of business sale, but my order never showed up. I might have an evening free, but I'm not 100% sure. Some college friends of mine are in Columbus or will be at the con, so I need to fit in a dinner with them at some point during the show.

I think my only definite free time is Thursday afternoon, the time I thought about running a D&D game. I don't think that time worked for anyone else, so it's still free.

Well, I'm free almost all day on Thursday (I have a 10 AM panel to be on), and we're getting in Wednesday and leaving Monday. If you don't get an army or anything before the con, you can always borrow one and we'll show you how it works -- assuming you don't stop by the Privateer booth and have one of their erstwhile helpers give you a demo.

Oh, and for online stuff, I highly recommend The War Store (www.thewarstore.com). There isn't anywhere local to me that carries Warmachine, so we order our stuff online from him.

So says a man with a cow hat. :)

Well, I'm not a huge minis gamer, but I like it. If you end up at eithe big con this year, go by the PP booth. They've got tables full of booth monkeys who live to run short demos for people, with better minis and terrain than mortal men can hope to possess. If it doesn't hook you there, nothing will.

I really like the setting, too, and I'm also going to be dropping money on those books when they come out. They've got some good quality work there.

Hmmm... it might be easier to catch a demo. I'd hate for you to schlep your extra army to Columbus only to never have the chance to use it. I'll probably buy the rulebook the next time I'm up in NH - there's a store there that carries it.

Fear the Iron Lich...

I've got a 500-point Cryx army list worked up, but I seriously doubt I'm gonna have time to get it all together in time for Origins. I'm going to be hard pressed to get my 40K army ready for the Saturday tournament as it is. :(

Which army do you play?

I play Cygnar, the husband plays Khador, and my oldest son loves Menoth. We only really have the basic boxed set for the last one, but we'll probably be bringing it anyway. The husband is very into minis games. Only purely economic concerns have prevented his full-scale launch into Warhammer Fantasy, and possibly 40K as well.

We also have no problem with playing smaller games. If you've got the basic set, go ahead and bring it if you like. It'd be fun. :)

I'm a HeroClixer, myself, but I'll want to find you and chat at some point in any case.

I like Clix, but I've mostly just given over my heroes to my kids. It was pretty pointless trying to keep them for myself anyway, given the 5 and 6 year olds and the fact that they're superheroes. Also, it's a money sink I can't afford to keep up with, as sad as that makes me.

Aside from Clix, though, which I would be happy to play if I can borrow some, I'd love to get together with you, too. :) I'll be in the Hyatt, so I can either catch you at the booth during the day or at the Big Bar in the evenings, if you're so inclined. Or both.
