When my kids got home last night I tried on my cap and gown for them. I looked very much the graduate. I have a white tassel and purple departmental honor cords and everything. It was very odd seeing myself in the mirror; I didn't look like myself. I looked good, though, even tired and in need of makeup and slightly verklempt. And wearing a flat board for a hat, which is rarely a good look, truth be told.
