Yesterday was rather low on signs and portents after all. Probably because we covered nearly 600 miles. That said, we have a few.
1) Purple Cows. Or rather, the Purple Cow. It was a restaurant we stopped at in a tiny Montana town. They had both a purple cow statue and a meal called "The Purple People Feeder." I approve.
2) Huge amounts of sky. Seriously.
3) Northern Cheyenne and Crow reservations. This followed the battlefield directly, and it took me a while to shake free of it.
4) Rapid City is the City of Presidents, apparently. This means putting statues of presidents on the street corners downtown. I got my picture with Thomas Jefferson. Sweet. We skipped pics with both Reagan and Bush Sr.
5) Rapid City has two (2!) game stores within two blocks of one another, and while one tends more toward comics than the other, they both seem to be doing well.
6) Copies of both the core Buffy book AND the Slayers Handbook. If that's not a sign, I don't know what is.
7) Matt's osso bucco came with a bone for Rosie. Again, a sign that I should give a yummy thing to my long-suffering doggie. :)
I just have to say, Rosie really is being awesome on this trip. She's not eating or drinking as much as I'd like, but she's getting through, not barking, and not tearing anything up. I can't even tell you happy I am with her. I have a good doggie.
