I got an email today from someone who desperately wants to know where he can get copies of the unreleased drafts of the old Crimson Skies supplements and novels. He also wants to find a publisher who'll take on "Classic Crimson Skies," the boardgame. I didn't have the heart to tell him bluntly that he has more chance of the Hindenburg manifesting in his pants pre-explosion due to a random time rift, but I did hint that a) he'd probably have to talk to Microsoft, and that b) they'd probably want a lot of money if they were interested in the least. I feel I understated this sufficiently to categorize myself as "uninterested" without floating over the line into "bald-faced lie designed to lead a poor fanboy on and then crush his dreams mercilessly." My job here is done.

I had a friend who desperately wanted to revive the Villains & Vigilantes RPG. Thanks to FGU's...interesting ownership of the rights to the game, he had a similarly impossible task ahead of him. Sighing and giving up quickly became the order of the day.

I think I know who it is, as he recently posted to Dumpshock about it.

I hope he's got someone else to write his game's rules, because no matter who he takes it to, they'll laugh before they reject it. That is some atrocious writing.

Oh, God, if it's the same guy who's been filling my e-mail with demands for me, personally, to make a new boardgame line, you have my condolences.

(He's also insisting that he should just write all the new material, in e-mails that consist largely of comma splices and sentence fragments.)

Gah.

Yep, sounds like him. And he probably wants to be Your Special Friend, too. :)

Well, it beats the mail I used to get in my Star Wars days.

Really.
