For some reason unknown to me, Jason is one of the coolest guys ever. We can talk about all sorts of stuff online, even if I end up getting tonguetied around him in person. He has to be one of the few people in the modern world who have managed to marry an elf, and their offspring, one lovely little maiden, is fated to rule the world. He has not yet discovered the wonders of really good cornbread dressing, but he can be led to the Way in time. :) He's a mountain of a man with the soul of a poet (and the skills of one as well). I'll even spend money on his books (when I have it, anyway).

Although Jason has known darkness, he's not afraid of the light. He lives up to Shakespeare's words: "to thine own self be true" -- a rare thing in this day and age. He's not afraid of the truth, nor of sharing it, though he possesses a keen sense of when to let things lie. He leads with his heart, unabashedly willing to take a hit if it means things will be a little better for those around him. I am deeply fond of this man, and I look forward to seeing him every year. Someday I might even let myself get drunk while he's around -- something I only do in company I trust absolutely. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing him again in the coming year, and I wish him well on his journey to Madison. He's earned it. :)
