Book Count: 7. Blue Rose; Tekumel; True 20; Normal, Texas; A Game of Thrones (Deluxe Edition); Serenity; The Lostfinders Guide to Mire End (a supplement for A/State). I did not manage to get SR4 in either edition, given the short numbers. Ah well.
Art Count: 1 framed, 2 matted, 3 plain prints. Love, love, love. John Esh is my new favorite artist. I also picked up a print from Denise Garner (thank you, Nicole!), a piece from Nigel Sade, and a piece from Brian Miskelley (I love his cut paper art... it's amazing). I also have a fabulous new print from Jeremy McHugh and bits and pieces from bunches of different artists. I am very, very happy.
Drink Count: Roughly 2/night, barring Sunday night.
Flirty Guy Count: 2-3. And there was much rejoicing.
Creepy Drunk Horny Guy Count: 1. But I found a way out of it and didn't do anything stupid, like walk back alone. I was also suddenly very glad I hadn't had more to drink, as being relatively sober to his "blitzed out of his gourd" gave me the upper hand. Freaked me out a bit, though. Hadn't actually met anyone before for whom "no" didn't actually mean "no," even after the 10th repetition.
Really Good Meals Eaten: At least one per day. Damn, but I love conventions. :)
Cute Foreign Guys I Got To Chat Up: 4. One of them was
eynowd, whom I had missed while he was in town -- I'm so glad we got to chat for a while. Did my confidence wonders to be seen with you. :)
Games Played: 1.
innocent_man stopped me and asked me to play Werewolf, as they needed a couple more! I got to be a Blood Talon! I kicked butt (and got my own kicked, but that's neither here nor there). I need to own this game now. There were the walking dead on spikes! Just... very cool. I'm so glad I got to play, dear heart.
stoictruebrujah was also there, along with others who have LJs but which I would have to track down to remember them. My bad.
Dances Danced: 1. Kept meaning to dance at the FanPro thing, but couldn't quite work up the guts to get out there on my own. Stupid, but there you go. It will come in time. I did get dragged up with the belly dancer at the Greek Islands restaurant and had to dance as well, which was fun. I remembered more from my lessons long ago than I thought I had. Went to my first dance club as well. Didn't dance there either, but I could see myself doing so in the future.
Friends Seen: More than I could possibly count, and yet there were still more that I missed seeing almost altogether. I am truly blessed to know so many wonderful people, and to have them think well of me. When four days isn't enough to spend even a half-hour with everyone you want to see, you know you've managed to really be lucky. Must make more time for the RPGnet crew next year. It did serve to remind me why I like to go to both GenCon & Origins, though: I can almost see everyone between the two.
Books Read: Drawing Down the Moon, by Margot Adler. Have about 100 pages left. I'll make another post about it if anyone cares later. Eats, Shoots, and Leaves, by Lynne Truss. People in the airport looked at me funny when I'd suddenly snerk or guffaw while reading this. Tough cookies. Water, by Peter Dickenson and Robin McKinley, About halfway through it. Wonderful stuff.
Just... wonderful, wonderful stuff. I know there will be years to come in which I will not be able to make the trip, but I know it will always, always be worth the effort to do so.
