My DVD player is getting alzheimers or something. Last night I was reviewing a CD for work. Today, after it shut itself off last night with the CD still inside -- thus the CD has not been moved or touched in any way -- it won't read that self-same CD. Tried blowing into the damn thing to clean off the laser if it had gotten dusty. Examined the CD. Tried another CD (this one it read). Unfortunately, I'm trying to do work right now, damnit, not just watch a movie for entertainment. I'm... a bit disappointed. It's been doing this a lot lately, and I'm ready to come home with a new one today. Argh. I only wish I had realized I would need to do this before, so I could have made some different financial priority choices before I ended up toward the end of my money again.

Damn.

Uh oh. I don't suppose any of the computers have DVD players, do they?

Nope. Only my iBook, which is still dead. I'm mailing it tomorrow to Rat, though, I swear it....

The one I got was about $65, and the DVD worked like a charm. Contented sigh.

To have it fixed, or is she buying it? (Just curious. :))

Yay! Let's hear it for cheap DVD players! :D

Was going to email about that one of these days. :)

To fix it, hopefully. One of my gaming group is a hardware engineer at Apple--he thinks he can fix it or else he knows people who can.
