I am now employed, and for more money than I was expecting. I start next Thursday. It is a contract position, so it won't last forever, but right now I don't even care. :) Anyway, just thought I'd mention that. Yay!

Congratulations! Be sure to let us all know if Microsoft converts their own systems to the new release when it comes out.

w00t!!! Congratulations!

I've found that in the tech-writing/editing industry, contract often leads to full time when you're good.

Did you get the writing or the editing job?

Yay!! Congrats! Being surprised with more money is /always/ good. :)

Writing. But if I do well, there's possible full time down the road, or editing later, or... *handwave* It's a good first step, regardless.

woo-freakin'-hoo! You rock, Michelle! Not only gainfully employed, but no longer limited to RPG Industry money!

*grin* Damn, don't I know it. I hadn't really envisioned myself as working outside the RPG industry, but I'm not all that sad about moving my day job to computer gaming. I guess money makes up for a lot. :)

Congratulations! What campus will you be working at?

See? The job was already yours :)

And, as an added bonus, you start your new job before your severance from your old job runs out, so you've basically got bonus money now :)

Congratulations, hon! I'm so happy this worked out well for you! Here's hoping that the contract becomes a full-time position for you! *hug*

Ah, Millenium. It's still only about 10 mins away from North campus. Please let me know if you would like to have lunch sometime!

By and large, it's a good bunch of folks over there, too.

Keep an eye on this guy (http://www.livejournal.com/users/greyjoy), though. He's kinda shifty. ;P

It's not like you are going to write IN THE XBOX TEAM for a game based on a role playing pen and paper game that starts with S and ends in HADOWRUN, right? :)

Alas, no. I might eventually write about it for their web site, though. We shall see. They did ask if I'd done any UI work, so I have a feeling I might be able to branch over into that.

Congratulations, welcome to the video game industry!

As a similar writerly/videogame type person, maybe we should compare notes?
