Since joining the new gym as a replacement for my old one, I've been 3 times a week for two weeks now. I feel so much better exercising regularly again. I don't have a set workout, so mostly I'm doing cardio (and when I do get one on Monday after my assessment with a new trainer, ye gods will I be sore for a while) but it's really good to be just moving again. I'm actually enjoying it almost more than I was before, because I don't have to worry about taking time away from work to do it. I miss my old trainer, Dianna, and I wish I could work with her still. I took an intro yoga class today and while it was hard in spots, I could do it. I could not have gotten through it a year ago. I owe it all to her guidance, too, and her help in getting my body straightened out. I would not have known how to do it myself, given all my various structural oddities. On Thursday nights they have a hip-hop class and a yoga class I'm looking into taking, and I'm pretty excited about it.
I never thought I'd be in a place in my life when I was looking forward to exercising, but I do. I feel focused, and strong, and just generally happy with where I am. It's just good to feel good about yourself and your body, and know that even if you don't look like you should be on a movie screen somewhere, that's okay. I think I can finally work enough cardio in this year to lose weight while I'm building muscle, and I'm really excited about it. It's a good thing. :)
Oh, and if you're local, female (it's a women's gym), and driving to north Renton isn't an issue for you, I have 3 free one-month memberships to give away. If you're interested, let me know.
