Went on a couple of dates with cute guy. Noted cute guy said he was having fun, but he wasn't really acting as though he was... well, on a date, really. Queries resulted. Paraphrased answer: "I don't know why, but I'm just not that into you. You're cool, though. Wanna be friends?"

Eh. Could have been worse. I liked him, though. Ah well. Maybe the friends thing will actually happen -- wouldn't hurt, as the number of single friends I have who have sufficient availability to go do stuff on a semi-regular basis is vanishingly small.

Well, at least there's some honesty, which is nice. And "not that into you" is an advantage in male friends who are not boyfriends, I am told.

True enough. We shall see if the friendship thing really happens or not. I'd like it to, really, but making that transition from "a couple of dates" to "actually doing friend stuff" seems fraught with peril, given the number who actually make that journey and finally emerge on the other side. We shall see.
