So. had interview with Filter on Monday. We'll see if anything comes of it. After I get back from Thanksgiving, I'm supposed to call S&T and go back in to see them again. I'll be surprised if I have anything come up through either of them before the first of the year, but we'll see.

Got almost no writing done last night, but a lot of computer maintanance and software installed, so that sorta counts. Also got a couple more inches done on the scarf I'm knitting, which is good, as it'd be good to have it done before the end of the winter. :)

Have not started scary sewing project yet. I'm taking it with me over Thanksgiving and Nicole and I will see how much of it we can puzzle out. The beginning of it involves doing a fitting, and I just can't do that myself.

Oh yeah, for those who are playing along at home with the whole dress poll, I caved in and we're doing D. :) Red satin with sparkles as the lining with black chiffon over it. Possibly red chiffon as the ruffles. Maybe for the skirt. Tarisse suggests it, but I have a hard time picturing it. We'll make the call as we get further along. I also bought the pattern for the black knit separates, though.

Currently listening to Cyndi Lauper's The Body Acoustic album. Lots of her old hits, all done acoustic, mostly re-envisioned with a high number of duets with current artists. I'm on the third song now and the only one I know of that got any significant airplay, "Time After Time" with Sarah MacLachlan. Goosebumps, people, on every song, but this one especially. I wasn't a huge fan of hers back in the day, but she's a hell of an artist. Most of her work is still good now, as this CD proves. Not a lot of artists can say that. Oh, and for another good Cyndi album that doesn't just recover the same old ground some way, see At Last, which is a cover album but of other people's stuff, ranging from old standards to 70s rock, all with a new spin on it to make it cool. Great, great stuff.

PS: Oh, my god. This version of "She Bop" is awesome. I never once thought I'd utter those words, but there it is. Good heavens.

Well, I looked over it. It's detailed, but it doesn't use any techniques I haven't used before. It'll have to be done carefully and with a good deal attention, but it's do-able. The big thing is that I have to have help with people who can help me adjust patterns to fit and tell me where something doesn't work. We're going to make a muslin version of the basic foundation of the dress for fit first, then push forward from there. It'll be a challenge, but I think we can do it.
