As of December of 2006, I have reacquired the rights to Daedalus. Daedalus is one of four original settings written for Ex Machina, a cyberpunk roleplaying game originally published by Guardians of Order. I'm very excited to have Daedalus back under my wing, and it's my intention to move forward with the property in some fashion. The next months will doubtlessly bring more news on this topic, but I wanted to make the announcement now through the forum closest to hand. Thanks to my friends for their support.

Excellent. I really enjoyed that setting, and can't wait to see what you do with it.

Oh, neat! How did that come about?

Significant pestering, some possible percentage of guilt, a formerly good working relationship, and a significant monetary debt owed. At least, those things played into it, I'm sure.

Sadly, before I read your comments, I had a feeling that "significant monetary debt owed" was a big part of this happening and not "it was the right thing to do under the circumstances." Then I red your reply to Gareth...

Ah well, still, glad you (officially) have the property back and hope you're able to do something profitable with it. Kick ass.

Congrats!
I would love to sit down with you (okay, virtually will likely have to do) and chat about your experiences in the industry. Things like "reaquiring rights" and the like speak of an area in the industry I'm completely unfamiliar with, and I'd like to educate myself.

Would you be willing to chat some time and let someone pick your brain? :)

Sure, though I fear it won't be nearly as much help as either of us would like. :)

Any tidbits learned, even if it's just "this is my experience, which is different than yours" is valuable.

Do you do IMs at all? Googlechat? How's the best way to meet up?

Congratulations, Michelle! Daedalus is a cool cyberpunk setting and certainly worthy of a renewed treatment. Best of luck with it.

That's great! Like many here, I'm looking forward to seeing what (else) you do with it. Perhaps your own RPG? *arch grin*

True20 could use a good cyberpunk setting. I'm just sayin'.

Um. Congratulations.

Tell me of this Daedalus setting.
