It's that time again. The time when schools send home catalogs full of knick-knacks and candy and wrapping paper in hopes of raising a little money. This is the first full year of my hell, because this year I have two kids in the school system. Yay. So whatever I buy, I have to buy equally, and I feel like I should buy something... sigh. If only I had more faith that the candy was actually good, it'd be easier. Now, if they has a Swiss Colony or Hickory Farms fundraising option, I'd be all over that. :)

General updates. I have a light at the end of the tunnel for Slayers D20 and for the other project I'm working on. Soon, possibly the end of this week, they'll both be done. I think I'll be cheering in the isles at that point, so I'll let you know when to turn up the music and dance along with me.

Kids are doing well. All is good on that end. Alisdair's writing his first MageKnight illustrated fan fiction (it's sooooo cute) and Will is coming home with a new color or alphabet song from preschool nearly every day.

Things with David are a little better. He basically came to the decision that making sure that the children and I (if not the marriage per se) were a priority in his life, and that he wants to make sure that I'm not left holding the bag on debt and everything else should he decide he needs to leave. So for now, we're going to be living at my parents' home for at least another 6-9 months while we redouble our efforts to pay some stuff off and get out of debt. With luck, my house will have sold by the end of the year and I'll have a new car, and maybe I can still pay some things off in the next six months too.

He and I are coping, at least for now. It's more managing than actually dealing with his problems, but sometimes that's all you can do. Hopefully by the end of this year this will change, but until then, who knows?

Anyway. Just a note to let everyone know that things are, if not turning up, then at least stabilizing for now. It's something, anyway, right?

It is certainly something. *hug*

Oh, and as for fundraisers: some of the knick-knacks are useful, and there are small ones to be found. With luck, you won't have to spend more than $10 per kid. (And the candy can always be more of a treat for the kiddos if you don't like them. ;))
