Boys are funny. :)

Al and Will have friends over today, namely Will's best friend Chamos and another classmate, Askia. They spent the requisite time playing on the Gamecube and whatnot before eventually rolling everything outside. They were there joined by another friend, Junior, who lives nearby.

Cue the weaponry.

Al and Will, in showing off all their stuff, pulled out all their boffer swords and rubber swords and shields. Everyone else thought that was a fine idea, and now mock battles are being staged up and down the driveway. Al's got a bat stuffed animal that is now a "bat-a-rang" and everyone's changing sides and roles and classes constantly. It's a grand melee of boy energy, thankfully all outside and away from me.

It's not just boys! When my friends and I played "Battle of the Planets" in the playground, Becky and Gina would get into huge fights over who got to play Princess and who had to be the stupid robot. The robot was stuck taking care of the base while Princess got to go kick ass with a yo-yo.

I was always Mark, of course. Encyclopedic knowledge of the show guaranteed that I could argue myself into the leadership position. ;)

I was totally Princess. Of course, there were only three of us and I was the only girl. Our swingset made an ideal Phoenix, though. :)
