First up is a great band from Texas named Spoon, who has somehow managed to channel the spirit of a number of late 70's acts and still sound cool doing it. Here's their current release, "The Underdog."

Next is Paramore, with their song Misery Business. You've undoubtedly heard at least a snippet of this somewhere. Before I saw the video, I assumed that the entire band was at least a little older than this... they're not, but holy crap can she sing. It's not all smoke and mirrors and sound editing, as this acoustic version proves.

Good picks! I've picked up Spoon's Gimme Fiction on a lark a few months before their latest album came out, but I must not get out enough because this is the first I'd seen of Paramore. Thanks!
