So, today I'm playing catch up with daily life. Did some laundry, did some dishes, got a car rented for the long drive home at Christmas (Go me!). I'm also cooking today: Last week, I made a very, very good pot roast recipe -- Americana Pot Roast, from Cooking Light. Darned tasty, and I didn't even have all the ingredients. Next time it'll be even better. Today I'm making the companion recipe to that one -- Cozy Shepherds Pie, which takes the leftovers and some extra stuff and turns it into a lovely meat-pie sort of thing with a mashed potato topping.

Today I have also finished up the skills and other accoutrements for the character I'm playing in [livejournal.com profile] bruceb's Adventure d20 game. It's set in 1924, and we're various individuals from that era with appropriately pulpy backgrounds, about to be taken on wild rides through time and space -- and even into other worlds altogether (most notably Midnight, from FFG). As a friend noted, it's rather like Sliders on acid -- or in this case, reefer, whisky and the Charleston.

My character in specific is named Patience Sullivan. She's a socialite heiress with an eye for art and an ear for jazz, who's embraced the Culture of Youth for all it's worth. She's got adorable bobbed dark hair, cupid's bow lips, mischievious dark eyes, and a talent for getting her way. She can ride, shoot a bow (archery was taught at her school as a fitting sport for Young Ladies of Consequence), and dance the night away. She's also had a Brush with the Occult that's left her amazingly good hunches and intuition with a bit of psychic reinforcement. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the game turns out. :)
