Nurse Michelle, at your service...
Feb. 28th, 2005 11:05 amWell, last week David and I took turns staying home with Alisdair, as he fought off this nasty flu. Will sailed through unscathed -- or so we thought -- while David and I both had rough spots. Then this weekend rolled around, and after a soul-refreshing trip to buy bookshelves and furniture and organizational stuff, Will started feeling very not good. Then the fever hit -- for both him and his father. This weekend was spent basically with both of them encamped on the couch, shivering and generally miserable.
Today, therefore, I'm home with both of them, as David was in no shape to be taking care of Will. I think he got this sick the first year I knew him, but not since then. He's doing well to cross the room and get to the bathroom. Hopefully it won't take him too many more days to kick this.
I've got a coffee table and two CD towers to assemble (thanks, IKEA!) along with some shelves for the pantry (at least, it's going to be a pantry once it's got shelves). I finally have a place for my TV and associated electronics, complete with a drawer that's now half filled with Gamecube and X-Box controllers, and half filled with Alisdair's Heroscape game. I'm more than doubling the number of pieces of furniture in my room, and yet it actually feels more spacious than it has in ages. I even got more towels and a spacesaver (those shelves that stand over the toilet) for the bathroom, and it's helped tremendously. It finally feels like a house, rather that just a place we're living.
