Happy Mother's Day!
May. 8th, 2005 11:08 amWell, there's a significant lack of mad money this Mother's Day, so not much is going on. I did go to Ikea yesterday and pickup this really cool little wood and fabric shelf and drawer thing, which will give me a good start on at least the first parts of a dresser. I don't really have room for a full-size one, but this will hold some stuff and I can add other bits onto it later. I think it's really cool.
Watched 12 Angry Men yesterday. I've discovered I'm really nervous about watching dramas. I think I've become unfamiliar with them through lack of exposure, so I always assume they're going to make me cry or be scared. Most dramas, though, are just about things that aren't necessarily funny. Drama =/= tragedy, despite the plays I studied in my drama class at college. (Ibsen was a big favorite. Madame Bovary was there too. And Playboy of the Western World, and Death of a Salesman, and The Glass Menagerie....) I really enjoyed it, though. Henry Fonda was really, really good -- well, really the whole cast was good. Despite the passage of time, it really wasn't dated. It gets 4 stars from me. Next up: The Importance of Being Earnest with Colin Firth and Family Man with Nicholas Cage.
Got some house cleaning done, but there's more (as ever). David did dishes this morning (God bless him), so I can focus on cleaning the bathroom, putting some more things away in the living room, putting together the last bit of furniture I got for my bedroom in the prior purchasing spree (a cool black metal cafe-style table/nightstand). I also want to weed out the flower beds and maybe plant some stuff, so my house will look all nice this summer.
