Today so far
Jun. 3rd, 2006 05:54 pmCleaned part of my living room. Took out the recycling from the last Ikea trip. Vaccuumed part of the floor. Took old clothes to a donation point. Took the kids out to lunch. Went to Old Navy and basically purchased them each a summer's worth of clothes. God bless special coupons and credit cards--between the two I managed to get a 3 pairs of shorts, a jean jacket, 2 muscle/t-shirts and 2 nice shirts each, plus flip-flops and sandals for Will, for about $250. So much easier than having to shop piecemeal through the summer, even if it does take me a couple of months to pay it off. Same spending pattern, basically, but better to have the clothing now when they need it than get a bit here and a bit there. I probably could have gone to a thrift store or something, but frankly, for the types of clothes they need most, I'd rather just get them new and let them put all the wear on them. The clothes need all the chances they can get, especially with William. The jean jackets were the most expensive things, but I'd been wanting some for the boys forever. A mommy splurge isn't that bad now and then, right? I then went and did a bit of grocery shopping and came home.
Now my head hurts and I'm tired, but such is the way of things. I'll rest for a bit and then pick back up with the cleaning. I really want to make some progress on the house as a whole today.
