The joys of unemployment.
Jan. 4th, 2007 09:02 amSo I wake up this morning to find my phone service has been suspended because I didn't pay for December by Jan 3 (a whole $54, don't you know). I'm not further behind than that, so it's a minor bill at best. The kicker, however, is that I've run into issues with my unemployment. They haven't yet approved my claim, so that money I was saving during the latter half of December by being at my parents? Never materialized. Hence not paying my bill (or any of my other bills) yet.
When David showed up with the boys this morning, I told him about it. He's got financial issues of his own currently, and cannot help. That's okay, though, because I planned to call my mom and borrow her credit card. It isn't a great solution, but it's what they'd want me to do.
He nodded and ended up leaving, and I got the boys to the bus on time.... which would have been great, except that I was going to borrow his phone to do the calling.
Argh. So close, and yet so far.
It'll be all right to spend the day without phone service, though, right? I mean, it's not like I need it. I can quit anytime I want. *jitters*
