So I should be cleaning, or writing, or baking, or something like that right now, but I am fighting off a cold and feel unequal to the task, so I'm here instead. (Hey, I went and did my cardio today. I am full of virtue and shall not be gainsaid. If you disagree, bite me.)

So. Crafty things. I am not yet sufficiently organized to let me get back to my glass work, so I've been doing knitting stuff instead. Over near my gym is this nifty yarn store, Hilltop East. I had seen it many times but never went in, so the other day I remedied that. After all, what is unemployment for if not the chance to dawdle in stores of goodies you're otherwise too busy to go into?

Needless to say, it was spiffy. I browsed for the longest time. The staff was also very helpful. I was holding fast to my resolution not to purchase anything when I found the cutest book of patterns for dog coats and sweaters... and then one for dogs Rosie's size! And they aren't all saccherine-sweet, "you've got too much time on your hands" things either! They're actually useful "keep the short haired dog dry and warm" felted garments. There's some shaping to them, but it's not uber critical and they're mostly all one piece. Seems like a perfect next project to me, so I purchased it. I also purchased some lovely purple wool to go with (Nashua) that should felt up nicely and look sweet on her.

In addition, I'm finally/still working on the scarf/shawl with the Tsuki yarn I got from Artfibers in San Francisco. It's a nice lacy thing with a sort of dropped-stitch ladder pattern that I'm still sussing out. I've started over on the thing so many times now that I have the first few stitches of the pattern memorized, which is good because now I can tell where I was fucking up. Also, the pattern was wrong in the number of stitches to cast on, curse them. I worked it out, though. With luck I'll finish both projects before it gets to be summer again. :)

For those who might read this who are local to the Seattle area, have any of you gone and done the farm/corn maze thing? Is there any noticable difference between locations? If I were to go to either Remlinger Farms or Maris Farms, could you recommend one over the other for any particular reason? Any information is welcome.
