Went today to church. The regular service was replaced by a music day. First there was a Bach sonata for violin and piano, and then the choir performed Ralph Vaughn Williams' Serenade to Music and Five Mystical Songs. Both were lovely, but what made the last one even better is that I performed it back at OU in my choir days. I'd completely forgotten until they started doing it, but then... it was so much fun to listen to, and absolutely gorgeous. Then for Christmas, they host a Handel's Messiah Sing-and-Play-Along. Tickets are $40, and you basically get to sing and play the whole thing, and everyone has a chance to seing the solos! I'm actually really excited about this. I love Christmas music, both sacred and secular, and it's the one thing I really regret about not being in a choir every year when it comes around. School is interfering with choir still, but this I could take part in.
I think more and more that I may come for the service, but I stay for the music. I can live with that.
Got Will's correct cello book. Got the foils trimmed on my glass pieces. Got laundry done and dishes washed and now I'm making ratatouille in the dutch oven. It smells really good. I think I'm going to have to make this a staple this winter, as it's totally diet legal for me in every sense, and even encouraged. Aside from a metric ton of chopping, it's even easy to make. Should be working on my paper. Am not. Argh. I suck. There's just so much to do, though.
