First, the first line of the months LJ meme!

January: Is there anyone NOT doing this meme?
February: So. Met guy for dinner.
March: I'm not doing too much online.
April: So, the latest exciting episode was Walking Tall, not the original starring Joe Don Baker (I think), but the remake starring The Rock.
May: So, for a project I was asked to take a look at, I ended up making a wiki from Wetpaint.com.
June: It is a sad, sad truth, but it's something I have done too rarely of late.
July: I haven't done this in a while, so here's some music I'm really enjoying right now.
August: So here I am, back in the OMG-It's-HOT land of Oklahoma.
September: Breakfast: 2 poached eggs, 2 slices Canadian bacon, grilled Roma tomato slices, Cinnamon tea
October: I've somehow learned to drink tea without sweetener.
November: My plans for a Kaylee costume fell through, thanks to lack of time and money and general get-up-and-go-ness.
December: It's 3 AM, I just finished my paper and my portfolio for my classes for tomorrow on 12 oz of Coke.

So, 2008. I seem to have made it through relatively unscathed, but some of my friends took direct hits, so it wasn't all a bed of roses. For me personally, though, I:

  • Wrote more.
  • Got a new full-time job with benefits.
  • Got into UW.
  • Finished my first quarter at UW with a 4.0.
  • Dated people.
  • Got a really good haircut.
  • Made more friends.
  • Lost 15 lbs and kept it off over the holidays.
  • Realized that I can be attracted to guys again.

As years go, it could have been worse. Happy New Year, everyone.

I knew I didn't have enough flour when I started, but I decided to try just reducing the recipe. I got to the second step, but when I realized I should have stiff enough dough than it would fold rather than ooze, I had to give it up as a grand experiment gone awry. This weekend I'll get more flour and try it again. :)

Its a good thing I did the breakfast I did, then: pancakes with banana slices and maple syrup, along with scrambled eggs. I hardly ever make pancakes; I don't really like them, honestly. But Will had asked, and it was a holiday, so it seemed like a good idea. The boys enjoyed them a lot, so that was good. :) I didn't see any parades, but that's okay. Here in a bit we're heading over to a friend's house for Rock Band and snacks and company, as soon as boys' clothes are dry.

Over all, not a bad start to the year. Let's hope it stays this good. :)
