eurydicebound: (Me!)
In that sort of "holy cow is it coming down" sort of way. It's been doing that for hours now. In theory, it'll change to rain in a couple of hours and everything will be washed away by the time the morning commute rolls around, but I find this difficult to believe. The children do as well. We'll see.

Good things to happen this weekend:

  • I made an awesome dinner, consisting of glazed ham, roasted cauliflower, and a recipe for cheesy corn that lacked the cheese, because I forgot to buy any. The corn was the least successful part, but both boys still ate it. They both had two helpings of ham, though, and I had to fight Will for my portion of cauliflower -- and let me tell you, those are words I never thought I'd write. Will in particular will usually skip right past the meat in a meal if I'll let him, so this was a big deal. He called this "the best meal of his life." Just a little exaggeration there, but I'll take it. :)
  • I fixed the DVD player, at least for tonight. Apparently it doesn't like the order in which I'd stacked it and the cable box. It miraculously came on when we tried it, and then started having problems, but when I rearranged things, all the problems mysteriously went away. Craziness.
  • I managed (with the help of my children) to dispose of all the cookies they baked for me as a Christmas present. It was totally sweet of them, but did not do my dieting efforts any favors.
  • I bought my books for my classes today. The bookstore was crazy crowded, but we muddled through. One of my classes has no books, which means probably a huge packet to buy. The other class has four books, and I was able to get all but one. Luckily, the one they didn't have was Beowulf. I can find Beowulf on my own.
  • I got to talk to a few different friends on the phone today. It was good to catch up. :)
  • I met up with an old friend of mine from my MUSHing days, Clint Wolf. He and his wife were in town visiting family, and we got the chance to go have dinner Friday night and catch up. It was really good to see him again and meet his wife, Dawn, who is a hell of an artist. And Clint gave me a back rub too! Good evening all around.
